Console et SSH
Console du conteneur dans l'interface Proxmox : compte root, connexion automatique sans mot de passe. Le SSH de root n'est ouvert que si vous l'avez demandé à l'installation.

  • Log in with admin@windmill.dev / changeme right after the install. Windmill then asks for a new superadmin account, which replaces the default one. Until you do that, anyone who reaches port 8000 can log in with the default credentials.

Windmill is an open-source developer platform that turns scripts into webhooks, workflows and UIs. Scripts in Python, TypeScript, Bash, SQL and other languages get an auto-generated form and API, can be chained into flows with branches, loops, retries and approval steps, run on schedules or from webhooks and other triggers, and back low-code apps. This script runs the Community Edition binary in standalone mode (server and worker in one process) with PostgreSQL.

Configuration : /opt/windmill_data/.env

Dans le shell du nœud Proxmox. Exécutez cette commande dans le shell du nœud Proxmox, pas dans une VM. Lisez le script d'abord.

Générateur : préparer la commande avec vos réglages

Remplissez seulement ce que vous voulez changer. Les valeurs vides gardent le réglage par défaut du script.

Tutoriel pas à pas

De l'interface de Proxmox jusqu'à la première connexion, pour Windmill.

  1. Ouvrez l'interface de Proxmox dans votre navigateur et connectez-vous.

  2. Dans l'arbre de gauche, cliquez sur votre nœud, puis sur « Shell ».

  3. Vérifiez que le nœud a la place pour ce conteneur : 2 cœurs, 2 Go de mémoire, 10 Go de disque.

  4. Copiez cette commande, collez-la dans le shell et appuyez sur Entrée.

  5. À la question « Use Default Settings? », répondez oui pour garder les réglages par défaut. Répondez non pour choisir vous-même l'identifiant, l'adresse, le disque ou le réseau.

  6. Attendez la fin de l'installation : le script affiche l'adresse du conteneur.

  7. Ouvrez http://ADRESSE-IP:8000 dans votre navigateur, en remplaçant ADRESSE-IP par l'adresse affichée.

  8. Connectez-vous avec le compte admin@windmill.dev et le mot de passe changeme, puis changez tout de suite le mot de passe.

  9. Pour entrer dans le conteneur : sélectionnez-le dans Proxmox, puis « Console ». La session root s'ouvre sans mot de passe.

  10. Pour mettre à jour plus tard : tapez update dans la console du conteneur.

  11. Le fichier de configuration se trouve ici : /opt/windmill_data/.env

À savoir

  • Webhook URLs, OAuth redirects and links in emails are built from BASE_URL in /opt/windmill_data/.env, which points at the container IP. Change it when the IP changes or Windmill sits behind a reverse proxy or domain, then run systemctl restart windmill. A Base URL set in the instance settings takes precedence.
  • Python (through uv, which downloads the Python version on first use), TypeScript on Bun, Bash, DuckDB and SQL scripts run out of the box. The other languages the editor offers (TypeScript on Deno, Go, PHP, PowerShell, Rust, C#, Java, Ansible and more) need their runtime installed in the container first.
  • Server and worker share one process with a single worker, so jobs run one at a time. For parallel jobs, run more Windmill processes with MODE=worker against the same database.
  • The windmill database role has no CREATEDB or CREATEROLE privilege, so the Custom instance database option for Data Tables and DuckLake fails with permission denied. Point Data Tables at a PostgreSQL resource instead.
