PeerTube is a federated, self-hosted video platform. Videos are distributed peer-to-peer via WebTorrent to reduce bandwidth on the origin server, and instances federate over ActivityPub so users can follow channels across the fediverse, including Mastodon.

Configuration : /opt/peertube_data/config/production.yaml

Dans le shell du nœud Proxmox. Exécutez cette commande dans le shell du nœud Proxmox, pas dans une VM. Lisez le script d'abord.

Générateur : préparer la commande avec vos réglages

Remplissez seulement ce que vous voulez changer. Les valeurs vides gardent le réglage par défaut du script.

Tutoriel pas à pas

De l'interface de Proxmox jusqu'à la première connexion, pour PeerTube.

  1. Ouvrez l'interface de Proxmox dans votre navigateur et connectez-vous.

  2. Dans l'arbre de gauche, cliquez sur votre nœud, puis sur « Shell ».

  3. Vérifiez que le nœud a la place pour ce conteneur : 4 cœurs, 4 Go de mémoire, 40 Go de disque.

  4. Copiez cette commande, collez-la dans le shell et appuyez sur Entrée.

  5. À la question « Use Default Settings? », répondez oui pour garder les réglages par défaut. Répondez non pour choisir vous-même l'identifiant, l'adresse, le disque ou le réseau.

  6. Attendez la fin de l'installation : le script affiche l'adresse du conteneur.

  7. Ouvrez http://ADRESSE-IP:9000 dans votre navigateur, en remplaçant ADRESSE-IP par l'adresse affichée.

  8. Connectez-vous avec le compte root, puis changez tout de suite le mot de passe.

  9. Pour entrer dans le conteneur : sélectionnez-le dans Proxmox, puis « Console ». La session root s'ouvre sans mot de passe.

  10. Pour mettre à jour plus tard : tapez update dans la console du conteneur.

  11. Le fichier de configuration se trouve ici : /opt/peertube_data/config/production.yaml

À savoir

  • PeerTube does not support changing the webserver hostname after the fact - it is a documented, risky operation. Set webserver.hostname in /opt/peertube_data/config/production.yaml to your final domain BEFORE creating any content, then restart the service.
  • For federation and normal use PeerTube needs HTTPS on a public domain. The install is configured for plain HTTP on port 9000 for initial setup; put it behind a TLS reverse proxy and set webserver.https to true and port to 443.
  • Videos, thumbnails and logs live in /opt/peertube_data/storage, the configuration in /opt/peertube_data/config, and metadata in the PostgreSQL database 'peertube_prod'. Transcoding is CPU-heavy - give the container more cores if you upload a lot.
